I dreamed of a swan 
that was not a swan

Put your name tag On the inside of your shirt 
So you remember who you are

One for the road 
He said

Sticks and stones
 May break my bones
 But why stop there?

Do not be destroyed…

My laser sword is thin 
Whiplike 
I wield it expertly

I had an office, once 
With an incandescent lamp 
I bought at Target

Four-thirty: 
The sky is dark as ash 
The stars, diminished 
By the dim suburban glow 
To pale dots
