I had an office, once
With an incandescent lamp
I bought at Target
Some prints of paintings by Monet
And John Constable
In simple black frames
I hung them on the wall
By a table with a pothos
And some lucky bamboo

Now I have a bag
With my laptop and some cords
A mouse, a pen, a pack of gum
And a tiny blue umbrella
I’m borrowing this desk
From the company, I guess
I mostly wander, when I’m here
Until I find a place I like
I’m not complaining
I’m not here every day
Like the people who have cubes
Chairs, lockers for their stuff
I’m a digital nomad
A business hobo
A corporate tramp
With my black Tumi bindle
And an Owala waterskin
I love it

There’s an empty boxcar
With a phone and a window view
It shows as open until three
I’ll eat lunch there
Then, who knows?
I’m here
But don’t look for me
Just ping me on Teams
I’ll find you
