Sometimes I’d like to turn off the TV
And then:
Have you held a marble between your thumb and index finger? Rolled it around?
How about fresh asphalt on a parking lot and a skateboard? Rolled around it?
Natural clay in a riverbank? Around in it, rolled?
So smooth
So smooth
Not up close, of course
All those little molecules
Spiky and rough
But so are my fingers
And I can’t tell the difference
Where one ends and the other begins
